Job title:

Hotel manager

Reports to: MD

Objective:

Provide leadership and strategic planning to all departments in support of the hotel’s service culture. Maximize operations and guest satisfaction. Work Very closely with the hotel owners and other stake holders.

Tasks and responsibilities:

1. Oversee the operations functions of the hotel
2. Hold regular briefings and meetings with all head of departments.
3. Ensure full compliance to Hotel operating controls, policies, procedures and service standards.
4. Lead all key property issues including capital projects, customer service and refurbishment.
5. Handling complaints, and oversee the service recovery procedures.
6. Responsible for the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the hotel's annual Operating Budget, Marketing & Sales Plan and Capital Budget.
7. Manage on-going profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
8. Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotels and management.
9. Deliver hotel budget goals and set other short and long term strategic goals for the property.
10. Developing improvement actions, carry out costs savings.
11. Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Admin & General, on target and accurate.
12. Maximizing room yield and hotels / resort revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs.
13. Prepare a monthly financial reporting for the owners and stake holders.
14. Draw up plans and budget (revenues, costs, etc.) for the owners.
15. Helping in the procurement of operating supplies and equipment, and contracting with third-party vendors for essential equipment and services.
16. Act as a final decision maker in hiring key staff.
17. Overseeing and managing all departments and working closely with department heads on a daily basis.
18. Manage and develop the Hotel Executive team to ensure career progression and development.
19. Be accountable for responsibilities of department heads and take ownership of all guest complaints.
20. Provide effective leadership to hotel team members.
21. Lead in all aspects of business planning.
22. Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved.
23. Corporate client handling and take part in new client acquisition along with the sales team whenever required.
24. Assisting in residential sales as and when required and development with strong sales prospects.
25. Responsible for safeguarding the quality of operations both (internal & external audits).

Authority:

The Hotel Manager has authority over all hotel employees and is responsible for any actions and/or decisions made regarding the hotel

Qualifications:

A university degree in hotel management or a related field with Experience in opening, managing or re-positioning a hotel with clear track record.

Experience:

At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, especially hotel management.

Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.

Languages:

Arabic - fluent in speaking, reading and writing

English – good speaking, reading and writing

Job title:

Receptionist

Objective:

Receive and welcome guests and assist them to reach the reserved room, as well as coordinating outgoing and incoming calls to and from the hotel.

Line manager:

Hotel manager

Tasks and responsibilities:

1. Answering phone calls and answering guests queries and requestspromptly and efficiently
2. Welcoming guests in an appropriate manor
3. Assisting guests to their rooms
4. Coordinating incoming and outgoing calls
5. Arranging check in and check out for the guests

Authority:

This is limited to the performance of his work taking into consideration health and safety measures

Qualifications:

Business Degree or Tourism and Hospitality Degree

Training courses:

None necessary

Experience:

Should be a recent graduate and have min 1 year experience

Languages:

Arabic - fluent in reading and writing

English – good speaking and reading

Skills:

The receptionist should have the following skills:

1. Safeguard and recall documents
2. Dealing with printers, copying documents, and other administrative tasks
3. Excellent communication skills with people of all levels
4. Efficient handling of tasks
5. The ability to communicate via email and use the internet well

Job title:

Cleaning staff

Reports to: Hotel Manager

Objective:

Cleaning all hotel rooms and cleaning and polishing of corridors, dining hall, bathrooms, entrances, walls and stairs.

Line manager:

Hotel manager or floor manager

Tasks and responsibilities:

1. Execute all tasks within the limits of his job
2. Responsible for cleaning the floors, walls, bathrooms, corridors, stairs and rooms and arranging the beds
3. Responsible for cleaning the doors, equipment, windows and glassware
4. Ensuring all parts of the hotel are clean and smell welcoming
5. Responsible for maintaining the cleaning products and equipment
6. Documenting what cleaning product and equipment are needed and handing this to the Hotel manager

Authority:

This is limited to the performance of his work taking into consideration health and safety measures

Qualifications:

Secondary school certification or Diploma

Training courses:

None necessary

Experience:

No previous experience necessary

Languages:

Arabic (reading and writing preferred)

Skills:

Sweeping, dusting and stain removal, and maintenance of the objects and equipment that are cleaned

5. No health problems especially skin conditions or contagious illnesses
